This is Pyongyang-style Naengmyeon made in Cheongwoorim food, a brand of Sandol food.
There are so many noodle foods at Cheongwoorim . It is impressive that they export a variety of food groups to many countries. There are Pyongyang-style cold buckwheat noodles (called Mul-naengmyeon) and Hamheung-style spicy buckwheat noodles (called Bibim-naengmyeon) for the kinds of naengmyeon.
It weighs pretty much because of two bags of meat broth in the package. There are noodles, radish water Kimchi broth (called Dongchimi broth) and light mustard for two.
There is nothing different how to make it from naengmyeon on the market. You boil and rinse it before pouring the dongchimi broth.
산돌 food is the manufacturer and it is produced in Hongchun-gun, Gangwon-do.
There are naengmyeon noodles, dongchimi broth and light mustard for a person. Because it is not a dried noodle, you might feel a little moisturizing of it when touching. This is un-dried noodles completely. It smells savory, a kind of buckwheat smell. It may be a smell which people would like or dislike.
The bowl packed in only roles of keeping the package neatly, so it seems weak not enough to use for a tool of cooking. You should boil the every single noodles with tearing them off. It could be like a chunk of ricecake if you put it in boiling water at once, so you’d better untangle it with fingers though you are in hurry in your mind.
It seems quite a lot.
The huge ice from the huge freezer tray at home is very catchy. Roll up the noodles after rinsing hard with cold water and pour the broth in a bowl with the noodles. The broth doesn’t even look like a quantity for 1 person but more than 1. You should handle the amount of broth well depending on the size of bowl.
Don’t forget the light mustard. Its color doesn’t actually look pretty in the picture, such as murky brown color. But it will change the color into yellow when you dissolve it in the broth, something like concentrate.
I honestly thought it would taste common and similar with the others on the market. But as soon as I dissolved the light mustard, its taste got much more delicious and the smell became sharp. Because it is tasty when it gets cooler and cooler, you should have it absolutely cold with no picking big or small ice. My whole throat becomes so cold and I can feel it. The light mustard was just unbelievable material. The noodle strips were chewed just like buckwheat and I definitely love the chewy texture of food. Mul-naengmyeon is obviously the best food ever in hot summer. Hope you enjoy the cold summer with 청우림’s mul-naengmyeon!
