I didn't know much about different brands for tteokbokki,
so it was my first time hearing about 33 Tteokbokki.
I did some research on it and found out that this product is launched by the collaboration of two places, Sandeul Foods Inc. (Hongcheon, Gangwon-do) and 33 Kkoma Kimbab (Chuncheon, Gangwon-do). Even the franchises are opening now.
Although the tastes between the instant food and just-cooked food at the restaurant are very different, I see more advantages than disadvantages with the instant food. It is not difficult to cook tteokbokki, but if you would cook it at home, you need to go get rice cakes. However, if you eat the instant one, all the ingredients are packed in one package. Much easier and quicker to cook! This product is packed in the similar way as cup noodles.
Here is the simple direction. Put the rice cakes in the bowl, pour the sauce on top of the rice cakes, put water in. and then microwave it! It’s so simple, isn’t it?
You need to check the water line outside of the cup when putting the water in, but if you don't want lots of water, it would still be delicious if you just put the water until the rice cakes are soaked. When microwaving it, the container gets red and you will smell the spicy. Be careful when taking it out and opening the lid.
33 Tteockbokki has a long fork that just looks like chopsticks. The quantity looks a lot since it is soup based. The taste was not too strong so I liked it. Compared to the Soup Tteokbokki from Sandeul Foods Inc., the taste is overall similar but a bit spicier.
